Steamboat’s 15th annual summer home and garden tour, organized by the Guild of Strings Music Festival, will feature eight houses with amazing high country kitchens and gardens on Saturday, July 17.  Kitchen styles vary from a European-inspired farmhouse with an inviting fireplace gathering space to a color-infused distinctive kitchen influenced by the featured heirloom collection of Navajo rugs.   The open and innovative kitchen designs featured throughout the tour will inspire the chef in all of us.  Garden highlights include colorful perennial, herb, and native plant beds, extensive outdoor entertainment areas, decorative solutions for natural water drainage, sculptural features, as well as high country and water-wise solutions for edible gardens.The Strings Kitchen & Garden Tour kicks off at the Strings Park with a light continental breakfast from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. Tour participants’ ticket includes a map and descriptions of these beautiful locations across Steamboat.  The Strings Guild Silent Auction also closes at 9:30 a.m. with opportunities to bid on fantastic items including a custom cruiser bike as well as unique opportunities including Master Music Lessons from Strings professional musicians.

New this year, ticket buyers of the Strings Kitchen & Garden Tour have the opportunity to experience the featured kitchens and gardens throughout Steamboat Springs on a suggested bike route with support vehicles. This easy to moderately difficult route at an elevation of approximately 6,700 feet highlights the best of the Yampa Valley, beginning with a moderate climb to the Sanctuary mountain neighborhood, through the quaint downtown area, continuing to the sweeping vistas of the South Valley.
