FAQ's

What do I wear to the concerts? Dress code is Steamboat Summer Casual; you will see anything from shorts and jeans, to slacks and shirts, to dresses and skirts.


What happens if I lose my tickets? Call the Box Office (970-879-5056 x 105) to make arrangements.


Is dinner available? Are drinks served? Steamboat Meat and Seafood Co. is the vendor for the Music Festival Park Café and provides light fare and beverages. Call 970-879-3504 for reservations.


How do I get the best seats? Most of our concerts feature Reserved Seating. We will assign you the best available seats at the time of your ticket order. Seating preferences will be observed based on availability. To choose your seats, please visit the Box Office. If the concert is Open Seating, you can choose your own seat. Doors open half an hour before the concert.


If I have tickets and can’t make the concert, can I get a refund? Unfortunately, we do not offer any refunds or exchanges for any reason. You are welcome to give tickets to other people or turn them back into the box office as a donation to Strings. Tickets must be turned in an our before the concert to receive a tax donation.


Can I take pictures? No pictures or videos are allowed in the Pavilion during a performance.


What is the youngest age allowed into an evening concert? Children six years and older may attend any evening performance. If children under the age of six attend these concerts, you will be asked to leave and no refunds will be given. Special Youth and Family Concerts are provided throughout the summer for our younger audience.


Is the Pavilion handicap accessible? The Strings Music Pavilion is Access Friendly. All programs, services and activities are operated in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please let us know at the time of ticket purchase about any disabilities. Contact Strings at 970-879-5056 x 103 for more information.


Where do I park? Free parking is conveniently located in the Meadows Lot across from the Festival Park at the corner of Mt. Werner and Pine Grove Road. Handicap parking is available along the west side of the Pavilion. To access this parking, you must arrive 20 minutes or more before the performance.


When do lawn tickets go on sale? How much do they cost? Lawn seating goes on sale only if the concert is sold out and depending on the weather forecast. These tickets will go on sale in person, only at the Box Office (no internet/phone orders) the day of the event at 9:00 am. Lawn seating ticket prices are roughly half of the advertised ticket price. Check our homepage for lawn seating information regarding a specific concert.


How long is the performance? Youth and Family concerts are between 45 and 60 minutes. Wednesday night classical concerts are 80 minutes. Saturday night classical  and Different Tempo concerts are 90 -120 minutes.


When do I applaud? Applause occurs at different times throughout a classical music performance. It is customary to applaud when the musicians walk onto the stage and when they are finished with the entire piece. Please hold applause between movements.


What time do I need to be at the concert? All concerts start promptly at the hour indicated. Those arriving late to a Classical concert will be admitted at the completion of the first movement. Those arriving late to a Different Tempo concert will be admitted to a concert once it has started at the discretion of the artist. Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to a concert to allow ample time for parking and seating.


Why is there a handling charge on my order? A $7 handling charge is applied to all mail, phone and internet orders and only charged once per order (not per ticket). There is no refund on any handling charge.


What if an event is canceled?  Strings will refund ticket price (excluding handling charge) on canceled events.  Purchaser is responsible for contacting the Strings Box Ofiice within two weeks of a canceled event to recieve refund.  No refunds after two weeks.  You may recieve a tax donation upon request.


What if an event is rescheduled?  Strings will contact you with the new date and time. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled event you must contact the Box Office within 72 hours of notification to receive a refund (excluding handling charge).


Where should I make a lodging reservation? Strings Music Festival's lodging sponsors are Bear Claw Condominiums, Resort Group, ResortQuest, Sheraton Steamboat Resort and Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp.
